What Is YogaFaith / Christian Sea Therapy?

The YogaFaith Sea Therapy Certification is the world’s first Christ-centered, scientifically grounded specialty training in ocean-based healing, rooted in the full theology of water across Scripture, Blue Mind neuroscience, polyvagal theory at the shore, somatic release, and ocean sound therapy, this 40-hour online certification equips you to design and facilitate YogaFaith Sea Therapy sessions with a complete clinical framework, wherever the Lord has planted you. For those called to the full embodied experience, the 55-hour option includes the complete 40 hour online curriculum and five days at the first inaugural YogaFaith Sea Therapy Immersion Retreat at Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos, May 31 through June 4, 2027. These 12 founding spots can be Lead Trainers in future Sea Therapy retreats. There will never be another first. This training is at 90% capacity. Our inaugural training retreat is adult only and all-inclusive.

The First Inaugural YogaFaith Sea Therapy Immersion Retreat

Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos | All inclusive, Adult Only — May 31 to June 4, 2027 with Michelle Thielen, Founder of YogaFaith Grace Bay is a pure slice of heaven. Waters so clear and still they barely look real, and it is where the first 12 YogaFaith Sea Therapists in the world will gather to practice, receive, refine, and be commissioned as Lead Trainers for YF Sea Therapy. The retreat includes all YogaFaith Sea Therapy sessions, beach practices, group instruction and the Commissioning Graduation Ceremony for our inaugural founding cohort. The adult-only, all-inclusive resort covers meals, lodging, and most resort amenities and activities at $1,000 - 1,600 per person for the full week. Travel to and from Turks and Caicos is the student’s responsibility, venue offers airport shuttle. Be a part of our foundation. Founding cohort members receive a numbered Founding Member certificate and permanent designation. You cannot be first twice.

Course Objectives

- Articulate the biblical and theological foundation for water as a place of healing, encounter, and renewal across the full arc of Scripture - Define and apply the YogaFaith Sea Therapy framework within a evidence-based clinical model - Apply Blue Mind neuroscience and polyvagal theory to the design of ocean-based therapeutic sessions - Understand the physiology of saltwater, sea air, cold immersion, and coastal circadian rhythm restoration - Facilitate somatic release and nervous system regulation at the water’s edge within a Christ-centered framework - Design and lead complete YogaFaith Sea Therapy sessions from client intake through immersive practice and reflective close - Integrate ocean sound therapy, breathwork, and scripture-anchored contemplative practice into session design - Complete a practicum, documented case study, and final assessment to earn the C-YFST credential - Experience the sacred gift of fellowship and communion with a like-minded community of practitioners, gathered together at one of the world's most breathtaking coastal destinations
